Attention! COVID19 – reopening of live activities
We are in a new phase (we are easing the confinement) at the national level due to the Covid pandemic19, however, it is necessary to assume a series of rules during our activities, in accordance with the rules of DGS (national health care) and ICOM (rules for museums and educational services), because public health is our priority.
Our activities are adapted to this new reality in the way of interacting with the public in complete safety.
The EmCadeamentos – Association for the Promotion of Historical-Cultural Heritage is a non-profit organization, formally constituted on April 9, 2015. Headquartered in Espinho, Portugal, its activities are carried out at national and international level.
The association was created with the aim of disseminating and valuing the historical and cultural heritage, both material and immaterial, in a careful, credible and sustained manner. To this end, all content promoted by EmCadeamentos has a theoretical and practical basis, based on research, investigation and experimental archeology procedures developed internally at the association.
Our Members, who come from different areas of knowledge, bring multidisciplinary perspectives to EmCadeamentos’ work approach.
Since 2016, EmCadeamentos has been part of EXARC, a worldwide organization affiliated with ICOM and representing open-air museums, archaeological spaces, experimental archaeology, technology from the past and its interpretation.
EmCadeamentos has had a regular daily activity since its establishment, being more visible to the public in actions to boost heritage (temporary exhibitions, educational presentations, live history and reenactment, among others) and non-formal education (targeted and adapted for different age groups, from children to adults).
The association has an inclusive policy, that is, it is accessible to all types of public, adapting its activities when necessary, and promotes interculturality, by providing its activities in different languages, both in national territory and in international activities that has done in the entities and institutions with which it has a partnership.
For all of these and other reasons, EmCadeamentos is for everyone!
